I'm using syncml2iphone. Works with SyncML servers and google calender(as long as your calender is not shared) and ICal calenders.
Pretty cool and easy to set up. You can grab it here:

cd /var/root/Library
rm Calendar
ln -s /private/var/mobile/Library/Calendar

latest iPhone PC Suite 1.0.3.3
The very best alternative to sync calendar without outlook on XP or Vista is to download the latest iPhone PC Suite 1.0.3.3 ( translated, highlated and explaned in full details by iSpazio) : you just cannot imagine the power of that tool without wifi, SSH, iTunes or outlook, just a plain USB connection .
It is just imbelievable : when you launch the suite, you get a nice picture like a real sized iphone with icons. Each icone is labelled with the task you want the suite to execute, almost every task you could dream of!
Translate http://www.spaziocellulare.com/ispazio/
You can also download the suite there!
