It will open with MobileSMS.app by default there is plans to introduce a preference menu to allow switching SMSD / MobileSMS.apps as default or non-default.
For now the option to make SMSd default is not advised for novice users. Wait tight for v0.1.1

ok
thanks
the app is perfect!!!
Nice gift for christmas
Here's how to do it:
SSH to your iPhone using Putty or Terminal and run the following commands:
1) mv /Applications/MobileSMS.app /Applications/AppleSMS
2) cd /Applications/SMSD.app
3) cp Info.plist Info.plist.smsd
4) pico Info.plist
Edit the following line:
To have instead:Code:<string>com.amrut.iphone.SMSD</string>
Save and exit pico by doing the following: CTRL + O (to save Info.plist file) and CTRL + X to exit picoCode:<string>com.apple.MobileSMS</string>
Now restart your iPhone, when a new SMS notification comes up on screen hitting "View" will load you into SMSD. Please make sure you have enabled the SMS Notifcations for SMSD.
This can be done by opening SMSD, selecting the MORE button, then select Preferences, then toggle the "New SMS notifications" to ON. This all works great for me, hopefully it will for you guys as well.
Good news is next release should have conversation view like apples SMS app!!! and more UI Fixes
Post back your issues etc while using SMSD as default using my method above.
Cheers,
Mark

Another issue i've spotted:
When you've sent an SMS to someone via SMSD and you get the successful send notification, click ok then hit the "back" button, it loads back to a blank screen where you can only see the top status for network and battery and also the background of the iPhone.
Seems there's some issue with SMSD there :\

The senario is:
1) SMS notification comes up to Ignore or View SMS.
2) Click on View
3) Decide to reply to that SMS in SMSD by clicking the arrow and Reply.
4) Reply with a SMS
5) Click send
6) Get a notification that SMS successfully sent
7) Click ok this then takes me back to the originally sent SMS which I replied to.
8) When I click the "back" button from here this is when I am sent to a blank screen where the app is not loaded.
Only pressing the Home button takes me back to Springboard.
Any one else help to see if this happens to them and also which Firmware they are using etc.

Also can confirm this happens to me. Amrut was aware of some of the issues. This is to do with the return to previous state feature. I'm sure he will fix this pretty quickly.
SOLUTION for now is to either add a contact in the To: field or manually type a number. Once you do that you can then continue to edit / add to the SMS from the Text window.
