Is there a way to recover deleted text messages from the iphone??? Maybe a .db file or something that can be recovered???

Windows? Mac?
If Windows you can look in:
c:\Documents and Settings\<yourname>\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Those are backup files. One of them contains my sms.db

FileMaker Pro or Microsoft Access for instance.
The deleted sms may be in there if u backup up before u deleted it in your iphone.

what if I've never backed it up before? I deleted it in the phone.... Can I recover it still? Maybe some kind of dump file or something?

iTunes automatically backs up the file everytime you sync the phone.
Just have a look at those files, and see if you find anything usefull.
Worst case scenario open them in notepad, and you should see the content.

I haven't ever synced with iTunes yet..... If I do will I be able to recover deleted text messages or not??

Well since u havent synced before,then no u wont.At least not by the method mentioned above.Some other method might show up.

Nope. The deleted messages are garbage collected on the fly, so your messages simply don't exist on the phone anymore.
The only option I could see was to recover backup, but if you didn't have any.. tough.
