Hi guys! I have a iPhone since last week, all works so good and i have a nextsim.

Form yesterday i have a big problem... i can't send SMS anymore. I can receive them, call and receive calls... but i cannot sent SMS. I've read in forums (and here too) that a lot of users have this problem.

Any fix? I didn't find anything.... i tried some carrier strings, i've tried iSMS and SMSD... no luck.

iPhone doesn't have a "sms center" option... i don't know if it is called in this way in english... at least here in italy every carrier has a setting for a sms center, which is a telephone number. maybe it is screwed and i don't know here to look. Is there any preference file i can edit?

Any help is much appreciated.

I found some thread here about editing the SMS.db... can you suggest an easy app to open tht SQL database?

You are right, you need that number, I resolved the same problem,using my SIM with another Sansumg phone, my carrier suplied to me the number for SMS Center, no more "error sending" in my iPhone.

I tried with a string, but no luck. I can't put the sim in another phone since it is glued with nextsim.

Do you simply set the sms center in the other phone?

Yes, they give a string of numbers for the SMS Center, swicht the phones and ready to send SMS.

OK DONE and it seems to work. Allusers who have problems:

1-Set the message center as described here, also with +39.
Es for Italian Wind *5005*7672*+393205858500#
sometimes it gives an error try more times, i suggest to create a contact in address book.

2-Download SMS.db to a folder and run from OS X terminal this string as suggested:
sqlite3 sms.db "CREATE TRIGGER hack_svc_center AFTER INSERT ON message BEGIN UPDATE message SET svc_center=NULL WHERE ROWID=new.ROWID; END;"

If you still have problems, you probably have an already damaged SMS.db. If this is the case, delete it, open SMS application, iPhone will create a new one, download it and work on it.

Hi, I understand you are from italy as me, I've tried all the things you've suggested but I still can't send any sms. I've also tried to delete the sms.db, and let the sms app recreate one. (For instance, after you've "patched" the sms.db with the sqlite3 command, you've copied over to the iphone right?).
The only thing is that i'm using a Vodafone sim instead of the Wind.
Did you have any more problems sending sms?

No now it works perfeclty. Have you setted your message center with the string?

Hi! I'm from Italy too, my wife's iPhone has the same problem, I'm trying it tomorrow when she comes home, but as I'm a newbie I'd like to understand better what I'm doing.
To download SMS.db can I use iSplit? http://www.robota.nl/products/iPhone%20iSpit.html
After downloading it (to ANY folder, i.e.'Download') and running the string from the terminal, do I have to upload the SMS.db in some way? May I do it using iSplit, or by an other app?
