I can confirm this works for 1.1.2. Great work. You should seriously upload this on Installer. There are many appz in Installer that dont deserve to be there. This app deserve recognition. Go for it man!

I used ibrickr to install the .pxl file, i have 1.1.1 and i didn't need to edit any list to make it work.

yes found it oas an app on the (rep.frenchiphone.com). Just add it to your sources and the program is called SIMPORT.

mine is a 1.1.1 with a SIM card used before in a nokia 6100. the contact names on the sim are in hebrew.

I installed the program through the installer, have the icon on the summerboard, clicking it shows the icon but doesn't open the program properly.

at first for a couple of times it showed loading for a couple of seconds and then boom went back to the board without doing anything.

afterwards I could select one contact to move, it was called "j)" and had about 30 numbers - I think that's all of the numbers I had saved on the sim (under different contacts ofcourse). moving it worked (one contact with 30nums, not what i want)

next time I tried openning the program I would get the same as at the beginning only the loading would show for around 15 seconds.

tried reinstalling and now it's like at the beginning.

I don't have any password on the sim.

I would really like to get this to work as I have a couple of hundred more that I want to move this way.

Maybe it depends on the sim you are using. It worked for me. Try alexs'f one (you can install it with ibrickr, as I read) Could be you are luckier

I have one issue with SIMport which I was able to D/L from french. It will not save multiple numbers for same person from the SIM.

is there a reason why this still isn't on installer yet?

Just tried the french version on Installer. It worked good enough. It aint perfect though but it does the basics

Ya, I am not sure why this hasn't made it to the installer. But what really baffles me is why Apple left this very important feature out? This should have been there from the begining, its not like we are using CDMA.

What beginning? The iphone is supposed to be used with the (empty) SIM card that comes pre-installed in it. And that is why Apple don't provide such a feature.
