Lighty doesn't do much really, without fastcgi. It's just a web server. Unless I missed some compiled options somewhere?
There is no rails on the iPhone, nor is there any way to get it on there far as I can see. The rubythat is available is very limited. No gem support so no webrick or a million other things you'd need. Heck, even irb doesn't work. I've been messing around with it a bit, but don't really have any free time to port it over (baby expected in october).
I agree it would be insanely cool, but nothing doing yet. Maybe when apple releasesa blessed dev environment.
"Are you into S&M?"
"Well...I'm a Red Sox fan. Does that count?"

on the plus side, since it seems you're a mac guy- I guess leopard will have rails installed by default. Looking forward to that, although I wonder what it'll do to my existing sites. I doubt they'll include it in an iPhone update though, nice as that would be. It'd be killer to do widgets running locally with a rails back-end.

widgets running locally with a rails backend... now i knw what they by the true potential of Web 2.0 apps... i mean, this would be great, no need for an actual sdk or anything. just a plain and simple ruby or rails app... nice...
