yeah i know this app. its really cool. sometimes unclear though..! specially if the name is not an English one..!!? but it works fine. but no i don't know if there's one for iphone. hopefully someone else has some news

How about recording your PC or Mac speech voice saying the contact's name, save it as a ringtone, install it on your phone and select it as a default ringtone for this contact ?

Hah, imagine doing that on a contact list with more than a hundred names like in my case. And after making all the ringtones, you have to upload them and set them to the specific contact...

Applescript is your friend to batch the process.

You just need to select the ringtone for each contact.

still, since that program exists for n95, it shouldnt be hard to get 1 to iphone

It shouldn't be hard is easy to say.

The N95 has not the same architecture as the iPhone.
Also, i guess a text to speech application is not gonna be that easy to dev.

That's not an app, even N73 has it. That's a feature with some of the Nokia smart phones, the N series have it.
