I have used Touchpad Pro from my WiFi network to control my Mac, but what about controlling it remotely when I am not connected to my WiFi network...?

I use ADSL Internet with IP Address: 123.236.10.70
The connection directly goes to my Belkin WiFi Router: 192.168.15.1

I have many computers on the network, and my Mac has the IP: 192.168.15.4

Now, which IP address do I enter in Touchpad Pro...?

I hope your IP is a fake, otherwise you might see people trying to hack your router now :-)

There are some tools that allow to connect to your harddrive that I have seen via the internet, basically through mobilesafari and an application that allows to browse through the filesystem.

You could use VNSea, a VNC implementation for the iPhone and connect to a certain port of your router, NAT this to your Mac and your would be done. But this is extremely dangerous, since VNC is not crypted afaik and you can only use a password to protect this connection.

So, again, I would not recommend this. What you could do is play around with the VPN functionality and see if you can establish a secure connection between the iPhone and your mobile network through that.

There might be other ways and I would be interested to see what the rest of tr crowd thinks.

Not much to add to Jondalar's post. general rule is: The more ports you open on your router the bigger the risk is. Any app like Touchpad, VNC or others use special ports to communicate. As Jondalar said you could NAT for Touchpad so sitting in an internet cafe you might control your Mac at home (or with VNC or other software). Cause those programs usually dont encrypt the communication traffic, passwords etc could be catched.
Thats one of the reasons Apple improves VPN tunneling in firmware 2.0. A VPN tunnel establishes an encrypted connection from outside to your (private) network without compromizing security. You would have to have a VPN server "on the other side" meaning in your network. In business enviroments this is a must often.
Even for private home-networks there are several routers around that offer an integrated VPN server. If you need this functionality, I'd recommend to think about buying one.

Next step then would be to get a host and domainname for your network/pc like with dyndns. dont know if you have a static IP from your provider or get one dynamically. Check here

When using NAT without VPN tunneling the following szenarion will be yours: Your router now manages a private network like 192.168.1.1-255 that is not visible to the internet. The router has a visible IP number assigned from your provider. Any traffic is managed by the router. When you open a web pagen on your Mac, the router passes the request to the server on the internet and then passes back the information to your Mac. The router "knows" where the request came from (from which PC/Mac/iPhone etc). When opening NAT-ports you assign the service&port (server, in your case one Mac VNC server) from one Mac to the router. For the world outside your private network the "machine" (router) with the public IP number now offers a services. the service is directed to the Mac, so the Mac is no longer invisible to the internet. there are tons of tools to scan servers for services and even more for listening ;-)

I want to connect using a VNC Client only, but the problem is, how do I configure the client. I want to use Touchpad Pro for this... or may be VNSea if Touchpad Pro doesn't work...

And if its not possible to use VNC, the you will need to help me setting up a VPN network.. and also how to Remote control it!

And for the ISP, my ISP gives an option for the IP. I can toggle between my Static IP and Dynamic IP from the ISP Control panel. So I can get both.
