[Req] Open WiFi Network Finder Alerter Ringer
Hi guys....
here in Italy where I live...but not only, I think :-), walking in town my iphone detects so many wifi networks...but most of them is locked/protected/encrypted
So if I wanna find an open network to use with my iphone for free...maybe just to check email for a sec while on my walk...I have to keep the phone open on network search and keep looking at the screen hoping it shows a free network.....and hoping the network signal power is at least 2 lines (when it's only on line 1...it says it can't connect...)
So It would be a very very usefull app one that if set ON, keeps searching for available networks and it rings ar gives any sound to alert when it finds an OPEN network.....
Even greater it would be if I could maybe set preferences to make it ring at a precise minimum number of lines of wifi signal intensity
What do you think? Do any of you know if something like this already exist?
And if not....would it possible to realize it?
I think Yes, but I have no knowledge and skills to do that..... :-(
Please say what you think of my idea!!!
Thanx
Frankie

It's a good concept, but if this app is on for a long period of time your looking at a 10 minute battery life. Unless you leave the search interval to big increments. :]
Thumbs up if i helped.

You can test battery life with APlogger, which does everything but the alert sound. Of course, breaking into open networks might be illegal in your country as well, and you should always expect honeypots (trap fake networks that return the hacking favour by sniffing your email account password etc.).
