was thinking what if we do a movie player that can play divx/avi/etc directly ? Then we would not need to convert all our avi so that it can be played on our iphones ?

Anyway, Mplayer or VLC might be the way to go.

A nice to have would be PimpStreamer like in PSP that you can stream videos from your pc.

anybody knows who's working on this ? or whether there's the home page of this project ?

According to the CorePlayer forum they're working on a iphone version but nobody knows when it'll be released and if CP will be able to play divx files for sure (they didn't answer my mail requests either).
