I'm using a PPC mac and I'm unable to convert Apple's (encrypted/corrupted?) PNG's for editing. I'm working on a new theme and I need to explore a bit

What I'm trying to do is change the blue background of the popup screen when you double click the home screen to change a song into black.

There's a program called fixpng that converts an 'iphone' png to a regular one. I think the iphone png's are ordered BGRA, and this program swaps the channels to be RGBA. If the binary doesnt work, compile the included code. This worked on my PPC mac.

Download (change the $ to s)

Once you make your png's, you can put them back on the iphone without converting back to BGRA. Regular png's work fine!

EDIT: Upon further inspection, it looks like you should run fixpng and then flipchannels. Both are included in that zip file.

spyboy: yes you can change that, someone on the macthemes forum actually created an all black interface, changed all the graphite to black. It also changed the popup notification background

hmmm I think we've found the missing link
We need to locate this png.. I doubt its in the springboard.app , maybe its in the frameworks folder. Usually the smallest ones are the ones that make a big difference, take safari for example; there is one picture like 1 px in size but its responsible for the whole gray background we c when we switch tabs.
