[Req] App to automatically turn on/off iphone
I was wondering if there is an app which automatically turns the iphone on and off at a time set by the user. I have not been able to find it
thanks

I did have that on my blackberry as well, and it was useful as you don't have to worry about turning it on and off for saving the battery charge.
should not be hard to do it, or at least to put the iphone in/out airplane mode, ...maybe somebody thought about it and did it....but I couldn't find it

i know theres the restart and reboot commands in BSD but is there a poweroff function that we can invoke??

Could you not just run a crontab to turn baseband off at XXX time and then turn back on, thus saving some battery power when baseband off = no calls can come in and this antenna not using power for scanning network.
aka OFF
launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
aka ON
launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

thats a good idea.... but its better to have some true off time where the RAM can clear out n stuff

Perhaps?

ohh yeah that was a smart move those guys made with that feature
big!! battery life saver. Currently I dont think its possible, hackers havent dug too deep into da code yet. I think i know how the blackberry smartphones worked; wut they did is keep the whole OS in memory, its kind of like window's hibernate feature, it allows for a more rapid start up time n also remember apps states n settings. Now when u removed the battery the whole thing started again, it copied the OS back to memory from its "hard drive" n it takes time ( u get the idea). One of the things i hate are those apps (ifon) not rememberin its previous state when opened again. So to add that feature they would have to dig deeper!, we've seen dual boot n pwned so far, wut will come next....
