[Req] Alcoholic / Bar Drinks / mixology app (and more)
I was at a restaurant last night and I was thinking:
"hmm, I haven't had rum in a while, but I don't want a fruity drink..." (I ended up ordering a dry vodka martini with extra olives, but anyway, I was playing an intellectual game with rum)
then it occured to me that I haven't seen an Iphone app that has alcoholic drink recipes natively.
How cool would it be to:
1) search drinks by ingredient: for example, see a list of all drinks made with rum
2) see the ingredients of each drink - might be useful for a cocktail party improve bar tender, aka college student trying to impress that cute sophomore / junior
(oh, wait you don't turn 21 until junior year... my bad) [or would it be the freshman guys using the app who are trying to learn the low-down] - neither of these scenarios was my situation (i'm post college years)
3) put the app on random to try new drinks
4) have a most popular drink list
5) a way to record notes about wine, esp different types and companies, including prices. Maybe a way to list favorite wines by country and by price.
6) information about grapes / barley, hops, etc so you can rub shoulders with the connoisseurs at a party.
7) some things to say about wine that no normal person would say to again, make fun of the connoisseurs ("mmm... definitely a woody taste")
8) a way to see where beers are made
9) a way to take a picture of a beer bottle and somehow save it to your comments for that beer. (same thing could be done for wine)
What do you think??
hit me with a thumbs up reputation if you think it is a decent idea and please show your support with a reply.
I know nothing about making apps, but I love the apps that hackint0sh readers are making.
Cheers!

drinkmixer.com has all of that just go to that through safari

Hmm, this is a good idea. I might take a crack at making something after I've finished my uni assignment in a couple of weeks
That is of course is somebody else doesn't.

I was hoping to be able to use this requested app in places with no signal.
I don't get signal at some bars and restaurants, nor would I want to wait for safari to load.
Plus,
drinksmixer.com is not optimized for iphone viewing.
a native app would be faster, easier to read, and more easily personalized for user editing. You could save notes on various specific brands of beer, etc.
A website is mainly reading, not a personalized log with info to look up.
