I installed an application on my fone from the cydia on my fone and now want to remove it.It is said to hold the icon and wait for a black "x" to appear but this does not seem to happen.Help please

No if it's a cydia app. Go to cydia---->manage---->packages. Then select the app you want to remove then top right corner tap modify and then remove from the popup
