Awesome! I really needed a good CHM reader. Does it have any file size limits in terms of ebook size?
(funny file name inside the .app
)

Biggest chm ebook I'm using right now is 196 mb, so most likely there's no size limit.
Reading books in landscape view and the way to choose single pages via content is really cool. It can only be outmatched by a pdf reader with landscape view and search function (i.e. probably an Adobe one after the SDK release).

benne--
how are you reading in landscape view? I don't see an option to rotate, nor does it do it automatically for me. The only way I can see, is that you're using Apache or lighttpd and reading them with Safari. I've tried that, but can't seem to make it work. When I switch it over, it launches Safari and tries to go a long address at the local path: http://127.0.0.1/chm/blahblahblah but I get a 404 error.
I tried creating a symlink (chm) from CHM to my server Documents root, but still no joy. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I can't view in landscape mode either. The app also closes automatically sometimes. All the permissions are properly set. Donno why this is happening.

Indeed I use lighttpd (installer version) and it works very well! The 404 error is probably similiar to the cover page problem. I think it's an chm file missing some information and mobilechm beeing unable to handle it therefore.
The following steps should fix it in about 2-3 minutes:
- Decompile the chm file by CHM Decoder (the menu creation is easier than by In CHM. Freeware, http://www.cnet.de/downloads/0,10000...-39745s,00.htm) - make sure "Generate Menu" is checked.
- Use In CHM (Freeware, http://www.vistanita.com/inchm/introduction.php) to change the "Default Topic" under preferences to the generated menu (___left.htm). Now compile again by hitting compile button and transfer the new file back to iPhone.
Another option is to use only lighttpd, a decompiled chm file stored under "var/root/Sites" and a Safari bookmark to "var/root/Sites/"sitename"/___left.htm. Then you can open contents and proceed like on a normal website. CHMmobile does the same, i.e. apparently decompiles chm and is thereafter makes access a lot easier and keeps things organized.

Thanks benne, that was the info I needed. Since I'm running on 1.1.3, I moved my Sites folder to /mobile/Sites . I looked in root, and sure enough all the files are there in /root/Sites/chm/. Just a symlink away from a cure!
It works great now with lighttpd, and Safari is really a much better reader (zoom, rotate etc). Once it's decompiled the books, it loads quite quickly too, even with big books.
