WIFI WEP 128 on iPhone 1.0.2

Hi,
I have iPhone FW 1.0.2 and I am trying to connect to wireless network at work.
We have at work a "hidden" hotspot using hexadecimal WEP 128bit. so I tried to configure the WIFI in my iPhone by setting/wifi/other and configured:
Name: <hotspot-name>
Security: <WEP>
Password: <WEP-KEY>

I couldn't connect to the network, I tried:
- Typing the hexadecimal digits in the wep key in upper case
- Typing $ before the key
- Resetting network configuration and try again

but neither one of these worked.
I read a lot of troubleshooting guides in the web but I don't know how to solve this.
- The WIFI network is working since I have connection to it from my laptop
- The iPhone WIFI works since I could connect to other WIFI networks from it

Any ideas?

Well, it worked for me, and I typed my key in in lowercase, without a prefix.

You don't have MAC address control on, do you? It's not the router not allowing a new device to connect without you OKing it?

No I don't have MAC address filtering.
I don't have access to the router (my company's IT manage it) but it should work. If I bring my laptop from home, it should work with my company's WIFI network without any special configuration (hotspot name and wep key are enough to do the trick) I am wondering why the iPhone couldn't

Same thing here in Portugal, I can't connect to some wep128 routers (without mac access control)
