[SMS] Privacy: Do not show a new SMS on the Locked-Screen

Hi

There may already be a solution to this but I have to asked anyway:

Is there a possibility to suppress the new SMS Message, that is shown on the Locked-Home-Screen. I do not want anybody to read my SMS if I have the Pass-Lock enabled and did not yet "unlock" the iPhone with my personal Code. By "unlock" I mean: Enter your personal PIN and slide the Unlock-Bar.

hey, spend some $$ and buy caterpillar apps. It's worth the cost. It will hide the sms nicely and offer you many other tools.
I've been using it since last month and very happy.

A new app by Rikk called PYSL protect your secret life is in beta right now and it has a feature to switch off that annoying notification, it also features an sms blacklist, and soon to have a call blacklist too, Below is his post to get the beta.


Due to lots of request, it's possible to test Pysl in beta stage:

Before installing beta version, you must folowing theses steps:

- install version 0.31 on your iPhone (iClarified)
- with SSH, go to /var/root/Library and delete Pysl folder
- get new version of Pysl here: http://pysl.googlecode.com/files/Pyslvrs0.32b.zip
-unzip and copy Pysl.App under /Applications directory of your iPhone (use SSH)
- restart your iPhone (not respring)

Please, to report a problem, give me all informations as possible (OS version, what append and why is a problem, with view..)

- Alarm notification
- Set SMS privacy (no popup for all SMS received)

I dont use SMS at all so I could be wrong, but isn't the setting "Show SMS Preview" under Settings->General->Passcode Lock supposed to address that?

Thank you for that one! You are dam right! I never used Passcode, so I never came by these settings (I am doing this for a client of mine)! I believe this should work!

nope, it doesnt solve this problem. TRy and see.
BTW, where on earth do you live that you dont receive any sms at all ?:eek:

:D I didnt say I dont receive any sms. I just dont use it very often. Also dont care if it shows up when my screen is locked with passcode. So I just meant that I dont have a lot of experience with the IPhone SMS options.

Well lets say it does work half-way! The text of the SMS is not shown anymore but the Number is still shown! Bummer! But it does work half-way!

I have looked so long for this solution. Just installed PYSL and it works perfectly!
