what language does the iphone handle best from a scripting point of view? surely with the 'backgrounder' app you could run a terminal window, run a script, and have it just sit there on a open socket waiting for the "RECENT" response from the imap server, as listed above, and playaudio. or better, vibrate the phone..

the actual script would be simple to do, no problem at all..

Can anyone post a link to the latest version of imapidle, or a repo with it?

It doesn't appear to be in Cydia or Installer anymore...
