Any ideas?
nope
all pics added to the iphone are changed in format......dont know which format
so if u add ur 20 mb jpeg the size will reduce
D'oh :)
Why do you think I asked for an specific app to handle large image files?
Still looking
How would you like to view it? Kind of like the native viewer, but ability to scroll in more? Or just start with a little window on it and scroll?
Yeah, the iTunes download resizes all images to native iPhone size. It kind of makes sense for performance. Only camera images taken with that specific phone are larger, but you'll notice you can't even view the higher res versions of those on the phone.
edit: I thought I saw some comments a while ago about someone putting large images into pdf and viewing them that way. Not a good option, but a start.
I want to view large maps, so if the file is 5000x5000px I need more zoom than the one provided for regular size photos. Still did not found a solution to this problem :(
unfortunatetly I don't think you will find a solution. I recently went canoeing in Mongolia and my cousin sent me all the docs that we needed for our trip which I uploaded using MobileFinder, however the phone just runs out of usable memory with any files that are over 1MB!!!! Shocking I know. I guess we should just get used to the fact that the iPhone is just a toy and will never have any productivity features as it simply can't handle them.
I am using Briefcase for a while now. The software allows me to load and display 30MB Tiff or Jpeg files, no problem. The only thing that is not working (and thats what you are up to) is more zoom. After zooming twice - game over. I am afraid there is not solution for multi-multi zoom and thats what you want for maps.
It's not a memory issue though.
Just not allow any more zoom, no crashes no locks.
But, i got briefcase for another purpose, beeing able to connect to my Mac ang get/carry all the docs I need on the road.
It takes about 3-5 seconds until the 30 mb test-file (jpeg) is opened. It is a real large one. I could only use the finger zoom twice on it.
