iPhone as a Second Screen
The idea is to use the iPhone as a second screen to your laptop.
Yes, VNSea allows you to clone your computer's interface onto the iPhone. This is different.
Instead, the iPhone would act as a second touchscreen to your normal computer. Under XP, it would show up in the display settings and give you the option of extending your desktop over to it. You would be able to place its relative position relative to your main screen - though of course since the iPhone is inherently mobile it's not so critical.
The power of it would be to view files and parts of applications you're working on directly from the iPhone. You could be writing a paper in one window, then spawn a second window scrolled to a different position. You could slide this window over to the iPhone display and access it there. This would give you access to both your primary document and your notes. Or you could use it as an auxiliary display for a game you're playing. Or you could have your IRC/IM session open on your iPhone while you work on the computer. Since it's no fun to type IM messages on the iPhone, when a new one comes in, you could respond to it typing on your laptop's keyboard.
With all of these examples, you never have to use the laptop's limited display space to view the side applications - the iPhone is a natural extension of the screen.
