iphone 3g- dock pins with mic and track switching

Hi.

I've got complicated problem (at least for me 'cause I am noob at this).

Btw. forgive my english. I come from Poland.



I want to connect my iphone by dock to radio in my car so I could listen music. But one function is missing in line out connection.

Switching tracks (like using doubble tap on your earphones pilot).



Is there any way to find pins which are responsible for that? (external accesories like speakers with dock for iphone have abilities to change songs through dock connection).



Taping tags are caused by fusing ground with microphone- (third ring and sleeve in jack):

I found complete description of dock pinouts:

but I can't find microphone pin!!!

Can anyone help me with that?

This is because it is not implemented in the same way via the dock connector.
You need to implement this via the serial pinouts and use the Apple Accessory Protocol.

So there isn't any way to control tracks by dock connection?

The headphone jack connections are not copied in the dock connector.

Yes there is a way to control tracks via the dock connector. However it is much more complicated.

The solution is to use the serial pins on the dock connector. There is a special serial based signalling protocol that was originally called iPod Accessory Protocol / iAP (also known as Apple Accessory protocol. It has been around since the 3rd gen iPod

I'm no hardware engineer. However the basic features are well documented on the internet do some searching and you will find them.

well I think it is more about software.

So without messing with those commands I can't find pins which will work like earphones button?

I've got ipod dock. When I connect iphone, I receive information that this device isn't for iphone.
What could I do to make this dock recognized like iphone's?
Maybe I should cut off some pins (and leave only 4 for USB and 3 for line out?), or change resistor (I read somewhere about this)

Can you be more specific: Does it say "charging is not supported with this accessory" or does it just say something about turning on airport mode to reduce audio interference?
