BigBoss Categories App Problems

Hi,
I just successfully jailbroke my iPhone, installed Cydia, and would like to get the BigBoss "Categories" app. Problem is, I seem to install it correctly, but when it finishes it says the iPhone has to reboot. Instead of rebooting, the iPhone enters recovery mode, I have to restore, and then I have to start the whole jailbreaking process over again. I've searched these forums and couldn't find anything similar to this problem. Any ideas?

iPhone in question is a 3GS, 3.1.2 firmware.

ok, I should have done a bit more experimenting first I guess. The problem doesn't seem to be with the BigBoss app, I tried a different app that required a reboot, and it also put me into recovery mode. If it helps understand the problem better, I jailbroke my phone using blackrai1n...

You probably have the new bootrom which can only be jailbroken in a tethered fashion. Your solution is to re-run blackra1n at each boot to kickstart the boot process past.

A more permanent solution for this may be found, but no one has found one yet. It took about six months to find 24kpwn exploit which formed the heart of the previous untethered jailbreak and is what the updated bootrom blocks.
