Annouce: iCosta 1.0.0 System Level Chinese Input Method

I'm glad to announce iCosta 1.0.0 is releasing.

iCosta 1.0.0 has following improvements:
1. New keyboard layout, reduce miss-typing between candicates and first line of letters. Enlarge the size of image of letters.
2. Add single character association, it is available in any input method brought by iCosta.
3. Add new input methods: WuBi(86 and 98), CangJie (for Traditional Chinese user)
4. Implemented landscape keyboard
5. fix the displaying of shift key image
6. Support to use space to select first candidate. The enter key is still to input English letters typed.
7. Disable auto correction to prevent some application to quit while using iCosta.

so by system level does thi mean that it will not show up as a program on springboard?

No, it is a part of system keyboard, you touch ',123' key to swtich English/Chines/Number keyboard.

Installed and rebooted, but it crashes SpringBoard when i press any key in English or Chinese. :(

(to install i just add http://iphone.freecoder.org/repository.php in installer sources, and then i can see iCosta 1.0.0 and install it)

What's your firmware version? It is working in 1.0.x only.
If it is 1.0.2, would you please send the crashreport in /var/logs/CrashReports/latest* ?

My bad, i was so excited that i haven't really read the version history.
Too bad I'm running on 1.1.1.

I just hope you'll release a 1.1.1 compatible version, because iCosta looks much more integrated than NativeCN (which is using a different way, by patching the japanese input).

We have investigated, but the Zhuyin need all full keys keyboard, it uses number, symbol and letter for encoding. It is to hard for your finger.
