[Pictures] Location of photos on the iPhone
Hi all
I am Desperately, and this is my very last Chance to get help.
I aked a Question in about 20 Boards, but there is no Report.
The Only Answer till now was a PM and the Member told me, it is not allowed to answer this Question, this is all he can say to me...
It looks like, there is a Death Penalty on answering this Question.
And at another Board i was locked only because i asked my Question.
Now i will try it here, i hope nothing will happen...
My Question is:
Where i can find the Directory, where iPhone stores the Photos from the Gallery?
Not the Filmroll, but the others.
i use winscp and openssh to connect to my iPhone but i cannot find the Directory where are all the Pictures.
Please, can anyone tell me the correct Path?
I hope this Question is here not banned or something, its my last Chance.
If it is dangerous to answer, you can send me a PN.
I will delete the PN after, to destroy all Proofs, and i will noone tell, i got the Answer to my Question, i give the Word of Honor!
PS: Please excuse my bad English. I hope you will understand it.
I have a jailbreaked iPhone 3G with FW 2.0
Thanks to all
Greeting, derenko

Hi all
Thanks volkspost for renaming.
Now i know the Directory where iphone should store the Photos.
It is /private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM and /private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE
BUT there are no Photos inside.
I connect with WinSCP, head to DCIM Folder and i cannot see any Pictures.
Other People have the pics in there.
What is wrong?
The "rights" are on 755 for Folder. I tryed it with 777 but also nothing.
Anyone have a Solution please?

ithmb files
You probably already found the pictures you just didn't know what to look for. The Iphone and Ipods store all gallery pictures in the ithmb file format. You should have a directory under /private/var/mobile/Media/ that has a couple files with the .ithmb extension. These files have the jpeg and tiff versions of all the pictures in your gallery. You need to copy these files off the phone and then find a program that can pull the pictures out of the ithmb file. I use a program called File Juicer. It will extract the contents of ithmb files.
