I was having a browse on the net this monring on my iphone and accidently found this feature that i new nothing about.
i though i'd let you all know, just incase some of you didnt know about it.

While on a website if you hold one finger on the screen then with another finger slide it around the screen, the screen it zooms in and out. Rather than the double tap zoom that is quite restrictive.

Did anyone else know that?

uhm... are you serious? that must be THE best and most useful as well as best known function of Safari (and picture viewer, and PDF viewer, and Doc viewer)...

yeah, its the multitouch thing. squeeze your two fingers in (eg put your index finger and thumb together in middle of screen in safari) then bring the two fingers out and away from each other/center of screen. safari will zoom in that way. to zoom out, just pinch inwards.

...didn't Jobs do that on a commercial?

So...why did you buy an iPhone then?

To look at web pages, as they appear far too small to read on the phone's display?
Have you always just looked at whole web pages without zooming in at all?

Pinching is THE essential feature concerning the iPhone's usability.
Steve showed that off the first time he held his prototype in the hand,
videos appeared, TV spots...

And you are talking as if you were browsing the web using a Sony Ericsson joystick.

no i had always just double tapped and scrolled around..

i havent ever ssen anything about the 'pinching' cant say i watch all the iphone ads etc etc

i would like to apologise to everyone for my severe lack of iphone knowledge

It's ok, we were all iPhone noobs before its release last year.

pinch, streche, breath ,let it go its my new finger workout plan.....
