Are there any 3rd party apps that modify the gif animation size limit in mobile safari? As of now it looks as if its is set to 2mb.

it's not just mobile safari. it's the internal webkit that does safari and much more!

(you can't simply change it)

if it's your site, switch to animated pngs.

I thought u could only do that with gif. Wut program does that?
To the first post; where did u get that info from? I don't think they're gonna give 20 percent of the browsers power for just one image!.. Cuz we can clearly c that they limited them by frames.. They have been improving with the latest fw releases tho

the link I sent used animated pngs! it's a series of individual images, with a little JavaScript.

see the twinkling lights, and tilt for the animated fire place.
