how about application/octet-stream for dmg?
Generally it depends on how server composes the response to your request.
Enter the URL to some dmg file you are trying to downoad here
I'll check it analyzing headers from server.

<key>WebPluginExtensions</key>

<string>mpeg</string>
<string>mpg</string>
<string>mp3</string>
<string>swa</string>

<string>MPEG audio</string>
<key>WebPluginTypeEnabled</key>

I can't seem to open the plist for the Quicktime plugin. Can't edit the file using Notepad. Should I open it with some other software?

Quicktime plist is in binary format, you should convert it to text.
Use this online service
http://140.124.181.188/~khchung/cgi-bin/plutil.cgi
I would prefer to open text version of plist file with WordPad.

Other question, any idea about what the LCDownloader file is for ? Anyone tried to edit it ?

Thanks, alk.
So now I'm able to download mp3s directly to the phone. Now here's the next question:
How the hell do I play them? The file will naturally not show up in my library until the iTunes database is updated, and that can't be done on the phone (right?). So how do I play the file?

Thanks, alk. Gonna test it now. If it works (as it should), then I'm really thankful to ya for pointing in the right direction. Thanks!!
