[MobileMail][2.0] crashes after update
My iphone was a 1.13 [ziphone - no problems) and I restored then updated to 2.0 and now I can not open my mail app. It crashes everytime. I have restored twice already and I am not sure where to go from here. Any advice?

is no one else having this problem?

It sounds like an ownership/permissions problem. Try this, it worked for me:

In case anyone is wondering... I fixed my problem. I put my phone into restore mode and restored it and I didn't load my previous back up and my mail is working again. ONly thing that sucks is I lost all my photos and favorites and what not. But atleast everything is working.

I have the same problem, the solution is to set the mail app permission to 777 but I have no way of accessing my iphone. I have open SSH installed but its not showing up in my spring board,
How can i SSH in to my 2.0 iphone?
Can't find any apps in cydia that will help,
Anyone?

Cydia has Open SSH, maybe you need to refresh?
Install OpenSSH, restart iPhone (OpenSSH won't work otherwise) then try to connect.
I changed the permissions from 0775 to 0777, but it still crashes for me. Anyone else have any ideas?
Also, anyone know an app available in cydia that will toggle OpenSSH on/off?

This works on 2.0.2 like a charm:
chown -R mobile:mobile /private/var/mobile
look at the 03-04-2008 mrad01's post for details: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32097

Avoid the problems
Guys, the problem is visible in many threads here.
If you do a major upgrade like 1.1.4->2.0.1 or 2.0.2 ist's always recommended not to use the iTunes option "restore data from a backup". Always select "setup as a new iphone".
If you sync your music, videos, addresses, calendar, photos via iTunes before upgrading you will get back almost any data when syncing after the upgrade.
If you want to save your SMS and Call history, Notes and other stuff there is one thing you can do. Before the upgrade SFTP (with WinSCP or Cyberduck/Fugu) into the iPhone and goto
/private/var/mobile/Library/ (fw >1.1.2)
/private/var/root/Library/ (fw <= 1.1.2)
In there you will find the settings and data for all major apps. Save them to your Mac/PC then do the restore to the new firmware.
Once done, get OpenSSH on the upgraded iPhone, SFTP into it again to
/private/var/mobile/Library/
open the app folders in there and replace the db and other files with the ones you saved.
No fiddeling around with permissions and stuff.
hope that helps
