Wink [Maps] New app Replacement on 1.1.2

    Hi all,

I just saw my friend's new 1.1.3 iPhone. The only thing I liked about it was the new Maps app which finds your loaction and allows Hybrid views. But I dont want to update my 1.1.2 just for the new Maps.app because I have dozens of apps which I will lose on the update.
So is there a way to replace the old Maps app of 1.1.2 with the new Maps app of 1.1.3 ?

Would be a great help. Thanks!

You mean that I will still have all apps with me when I upgrade?
How do I upgrade, iTunes or Installer? Apple iPhone School (www.appleiphoneschool.com) said that on upgrading through Installer, all apps will be lost and will not appear on spring board. So they will have to be uninstalled and installed back. And nnot all are compatable with 1.1.3...

So, will my apps be lost and how do I update? Pls let me know...

Well, but not loosing your apps I ment that they all work after upgrade. Some do need a little tweaking though. However the best way to upgrade is to "restore", NOT to "update".
Upon restoring you will loose all personal data, including all apps.
After "restoring" to 1.1.3 (or 1.1.4) you will have to reinstall all apps and of course sync with your desktop computer for all other (calendars, addresess, etc.)

    Thanks!

But it would be better to just replace the Maps.app folder through SSH. Can anyone zip the 1.1.3's Map.app and upload it!!!

    Would be great

I'm on 1.1.4 with the new baseband and everything including Maps Locate Me and Hybrid View works.

Infact I find 1.1.4, so much faster as well as more intelligent. It shuts off the WiFi when not in use!

For the Maps Locate me and Hybrid views to work, you would need 1.1.3's new baseband. It will not work on the old 1.1.2 baseband. You need to know that.

Thanks very much. I though that the new Maps app will work with old baseband also. Anyways, I will update my iPhone to 1.1.3 now. Using TimeCapsule for backup.
