Is it possible to change the source of the Google Maps maps to the one used in the Chinese Google Maps?

Here in china i cant see the 'map' version of the Google Maps in detail, so I can only use the satellite version to see buildings and streets in Beijing. So I would like to change the source of the maps into the one from China Google Maps.

Hi I need this too. A separate map application for use in China (shanghai for me) would be great as well. Any ideas?

If you can edit files that are on the iPhone, you could change the Google Maps URL in /System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBookUI.framework/ABURLFormats.plist
