Labyrinth game via accelerometer
Would be really cool to see a Labyrinth game like the one is MS Plus package.
Thinking that the accelerometer may not be sensitive enough though... Maybe a simple small touch pad would work instead.

It's out and it's awesome. The game play is very good. The controls are quite precise. There is a very very small delay but it is hardly noticeable.
I am very impressed. Here is some info http://blog.psmxy.org/pkg-info/labyrinth/
Still looking for a google code page. Give it a try and send some feedback.
I would love to see some levels added and some challenging game play. Sound would also be great.
If anyone has Microsoft Plus Labyrinth handy, lets get some screen shots and info.
Install via installer app.

Wow, I just installed that this morning, and I have to say, i'm impressed at how precise the iPhone's accelerometer is.

It looks impressive, and the control is great. But I'm not familiar with the game, so what's the goal other than just moving around and avoiding the holes?

Since it's only v0.2, I think there is no goal to it just yet. Just an awesome proof of concept.

Hi guys!
I'm the author of the Labyrinth game on the iPhone. First of all, thanks for all the great feedback and encouragements! For those of you who would like to poke around with the levels, take a look at the level.txt file. If you make a really good level and send it to me I might add that to the game.
I hope to have time to set up a proper page for the game soon but I will check this thread now and then in the meantime.
I have compiled a list of suggested features and bugs. Please email me with more stuff or post here. My email can be found here http://blog.psmxy.org/pkg-info/labyrinth/
Suggested features
- Add "start" point to level file
- Add "end" area to level file. Coloured hole at end of level starts next level?
- Add support for more levels
- Background colour change per level.
- Adjust ball "bounce" factor, controllable from level file.
- Adjust ball "friction" factor, controllable from level file.
- Time limit, controllable from level file.
- Limited number of balls (lives)
- Random levels?
- Sound
- 3d-walls, changing perspective when tilting phone, test successfully implemented.
- New obstacle, conveyor belt.
Bugs
- Screen flickering sometimes, probably due to system drawing to screen.
- Collision detection failing when ball is moving very fast.
- Sound icon displaying at startup when initialising accelerometer.

Keep up the good work larc. Would be great to see some level structure where one can only move onto the next after completing the first.
As I stated above the Microsoft "Plus" Labyrinth is amazing. It has plenty of great ideas and maybe the levels can be ported over somehow. If I can find it I will send you some ideas and screenshots.

even in this early stage it's by far the best thing on the iphone, I'm simply amazed at the sensitivity of the accelerometer never thought it was that good, so keep up the good work.

Also the multiple balls (two-three) will be a challenge. Optional sound must be present.

there are some videos on youtube of the MS labyrinth, just search for "Labyrinth plus"
