hey,first of great forum... i just jail break my iphone 2.2 firmware...

now i have added all possible repos(mostly) to installer but the apps the repos claim to have are not shown in the installer. neither cydia is very helpful and appstore req an acount even for free stuff(WHAT CRAP !). I desperately need a program to copy contacts from sim to phone, some Gtalk mesenger client and some voip s/w ....plz help

Welcome. Cydia is the preferred application installation tool for most of us, because it works better than Installer. What problem exactly do you have with Cydia?

In iTunes you can make an account (at least you could not long ago) by "buying" a free app, then going through the sign-up process, and at Payment method, indicating you won't use a credit card or something like that. Then you have an account where you can get free stuff.

just sign up for itunes with a credit card, then right after your done you can remove your credit card and set it to "none" as payment option so u can get your free apps.

as far as contacts, do it like the rest of us lol. manually type them all in, then sync with itunes so itll be your first n last time ever

hey, actually i just need a program to copy my sim contacts badly. If you can give a few s/w with cydia repos ill be highly thankful.

For gtalk messenger i used to have agile messenger in 1.1.4 firmware which i cant find anywhere now.

So i added ispazio.net repo to download ichabber for gtalk. the repo got added easily, but the app is no where to be found

ur iPhone is a good program to copy ur sim contacts, if ur on 2.x.
Just go to settings--->Mail, Contacts, Calender---->scroll down and u should see "Import SIM Contacts" that should do the trick

wow thats new[] i didnt know that..thanks a lot... any idea where i can find online messenger?

try searching the appstore, or use an "alternative" method to get appstore apps if u know what I mean, there are many online messaging apps like IM+, beejiveIM and others
Personally, i use beejiveIM and it's amazing i really recommend it

hey i created i tunes account with credit card and a'holes charged me 1 dollar just for creating

Now can someone pls tell me that if delete my credit card info now, will i still b able to access my itunes account??
