Hi I manually installed iphonehome app 0.7.3
but it crashes when i load.
black screen then springboard.

installer version won't work as it has 1.1.2 limitation and it's the ssame version so I assume the result will be the same

is there any other application which offers the same functionality?

You can edit change your iphone version tag to 1.1.2, then install it and change back.
Or install xlaunch, there you can set home button to launch any app too
