3gs 3.0 JB redsnow stuck at apple logo
Hey guys reviving this thread.
Has anyone tried the new pwnage 3.1.3 which works with the new 3.1 ipsw for 3gs phones already running 3.0 JB.
Does the new firmware work if upgraded using pwnage custom 3.1 file ?

As long as you have jailbroken (via redsn0w or purplera1n) your 3GS at 3.0 or 3.0.1 before you got stuck at the apple logo then you can restore using a custom 3.1 made with pwnagetool 3.1.3

Just tried the 3.1 ...works!! after having the phone as a brick for a month it was a great step !
Had to use the ultrasnow unlock thru cydia as well.
One problem. Although I have signal now....and Everything works but there is no carrier name and label otherwise everything seems to be working fine
thoughts ?

Supposedly this is generally due to blacksn0w / commcentre conflict. Or due to a minor bug in a supporting tool in Cydia.
If it is blacksn0w, then the fix as has been documented elsewhere is to let the iPhone's battery drop to near empty, the iPhone shuts down to protect the battery, then it starts charging and starts up again, you have the phone connected to your windows PC and have blackra1n running this kickstarts it out of that mode.

DL,
Did you even solve your problem with the phone?

I have the same issue with my 3gs 3.12 as the original person (DL) who made this post.
I updated the background app in Cidya and after the reboot, my phone went into a boot loop.
First of all, I know that I can do a restore through recovery mode, and clean restore my phone. However, I have much data on the phone that I have not backed up to the computer. Pictures, video, contacts, etc. I want to get my data off of the phone.
I have tried:
Blackra1n (R3) -picks up the phone in recovery mode, but Freezes up on geohuts face. and reboots after 2-3min
Blackra1n (R1) -picks up the phone in recovery mode, but stays on geohuts face with a spinning time and reboots phone in about 10min.
Spirit - "connect to device" doesn't even recognize the phone.
ibooter - cant get it to recognize the phone.
iplus2 - cant get it to recognize the phone.
redsn0w - tried to get out of boot loop, but it doesn't fix it. Still in boot loop.
iRecovery - it can connect to the phone in recovery mode. I tried Setenv auto-boot true, saveenv, fsboot, reboot, /exit (all combinations). but still in boot.
iTunes - connects in Recovery mode
Can I recover data through iRecovery? That is the only non itunes program that has some sort of hope?
Anyone, please help!
