[Installer] How to edit installed apps on installer
Ok, i did something not too much clever hehehehe.
I had a 1.1.1OTB unlocked, and full of apps. So i decided to go to 1.1.2. Ok, I updated, so i wouldnt lost my info, unlocked jailbreaked activated using Ziphone. Everything working perfectly.
The thing is, i didnt remove my apps before updating, and now SummerBoard dont want to unistall(also, i dont have the icon of summerboard on the springboard, cause of course, after the update it was gone).
So how can I edit installer to think that i dont have summerboard installed, so i can re-install it?
Thanks,
Abras

Go to ~mobile/Library/Installer and edit LocalPackages.plist.

wow.... how about sync your iPhone (for your contacts, SMS, mails .....) and forget about applications, and RESTORE again to 1.1.1, jailbreak, oktoprep, uptade to 1.1.2, jailbreak 1.1.2, anySIM 1.2u .... and all over again (install, install, install ....)
The harder way might be to manualy download installer from eg:http://hackthatphone.com/downloads/Installer.zip use WinSCP (Win) or FUGU (Mac) to upload installer to your Applications folder (i preasume you are familiar with WinSCP/FUGU and you know you need SSH) and you will have (after restart, of course) Installer icon on your iPhone, then try to unistall/Install whatever you want (but this is my wild guess, and i'm not so sure it will work anyway)

Are you sure?Cause there is no LocalPackages.plist on private/var/mobile/Library/Installer, there is just
PackageSources.plist
RemotePackages.plist
TrustedSources.plist
LocalPackages.plist i found at private/var/root/Library/Installer. Is this the one?Cause its a HUGEEE file, and there is like 200things about summerboard or SMBprefs. I really dont know what to edit.
Thanks

I already have installer on my iphone. The thing is, when i ask it to uninstall summerboard, it says main script execution failed! So i need to like trick installer, to think i dont have summerboard installed (which i dont), so then i can install it again.

Unless Installer has a "compatibility" feature to open its config files from the old version -- thus using LocalPackages.plist under ~root --, Installer 3.0 should be running from under mobile user and should store its settings under ~mobile.
I do remove all but Lockdown and Preferences folders from ~root/Library and everything works -- because all apps are running as mobile user and not as root anymore.
And in case you have both folders, just check which of them were recently modified. This should be the only one to be left, whilst the other can be removed -- providing the most updated one has all 4 needed files
PackageSources.plist
RemotePackages.plist
TrustedSources.plist
LocalPackages.plist
, and those files has correct user permissions/owners.
