I got an iPhone 3-4 months ago (right now is 1.1.4. and 3.9 bootloader), and since then there are a few things that really bug me because I cant find/cant really get them to work:

1. I REALLY need to turn off edge. All the apps I get do not work, they basically do the same thing: I press "turnoff edge", all my carrier signal drops for 3 secs, and edge turns itself on again. What should I do?

2. I REALLY need a SMS tool that counts my characters and puts a confirmation question upon sending the goddamn SMS. I found iSMS but the problems are:
a) there is no confirmation screen;
b) the sms I receive dont show there at all.
c) I dont see the sms's as conversations - which I definitely like
d) Ive seen somewhere a password added to the SMS section- it would really ROCK. All the conversations are way too reachable for my gf now - too dangerous.

Is there a way to put all of this into the old SMS app?

All of this would have to work with my 1.1.4. because it doesnt really cut it if it works on 1.1.2 only.

edge will turn off but the icon stays there anyway. It's off though. At least thats how it works on my iphone.
