Right, i just jailbroke my ipod touch about 3 days ago, yesterday i added cydia by following some instructions off youtube, heres the link YouTube - How To Get Cydia Installer For iPhone/iTouch . I can get loads of games and other things but when i was following some other instructions off youtube for example to change the colour of my ipod keyboard etc i noticed i didnt have the same tools as they did, anyways on my homepage (which i obv didnt realize beforehand) it says 'these versions of apple firmware are no longer supported. you are strongly encourated to upgrade to iPhone 2.x using pwnage tool'. Im guessing i have to get a newer version? Ive searched pwnage but only for mac computers and iv got a window. Does anyone know what i have to do? And could you explain it quite clearly coz i havent got a clue! Thank youu

actually it's quite simple:
restore your ipod to 2.2.1 using itunes,
run quickpwn 2.2.5 (search elsewhere for a download link) and follow the instructions displayed,
completing the process you should have a standard setup with cydia and installer.

quickpwn is available for windoze too. good luck (i did exactly that some hrs ago) ...
