[GPRS/EDGE] Working Solution to turning it off ?
Hi,
Since about a month now I have an Iphone, ofcourse I'm really happy to have one,
but I wasn't that happy when I saw my first phone bill!
Unfortunatly, I had used a lot of edge/gprs data, wich is really weird because I have a wireless network.
I have an unlocked iphone, 1.1.4 (unlocked/jailbroken/activated with the mac version of ziphone 3.0)
And I'm using my sim from the dutch provider Hi NL (KPN networks)
This network can connect to gprs without configuring any settings, so it works out of the box. (so no apn settings are needed)
I already tried several methods to turn it off:
Bosspreffs (it says it is off, but I can still go on the internet with wifi off)
Services (when i turn it off, a second later it turns itself on again...)
Netservices (same as services)
I even tried to edit the preferences.plist file using openSSH (http://www.iphoneclub.nl/forum/f1/iphon ... -edge.html).
But it still connects to gprs and my phone bill is getting higher and higher.
Can someone please help me on this one?!
With kind regards,
Midway

If you don't use EDGE at all then you can call your provider and ask them to stop the service but i find bosspref to do the job well since it deactivates the EDGE service.
