As I said all you have to do to get it to load is set all the files in the customize app to 0755 and it should open fine. Just gotta wait for more fixes on it actually doing anything beyond that.
On mine it did apply the wallpaper to the lockscreen (not background on springboard) from the theme. Nt super useful as we can do that ourselves without Customize, but at least its applying something.
Network: Rogers Canada
iPhone Model: 16GB White - 3GS
Current FW Version: 3.0 (7A341)
Current Bootloader: 06.04
Current BB Version: 04.26.08
Status: Jailbroken with Push Fully Functional
Installed Cutomize via ssh, set permissions to 775, executables 4775.
When I start app I get the message "Please wait .. Initializing Customize".
After a few seconds the app crashes and the phone goes back to homescreen.
Here is the logfile:

If you updated to a 3G iPhone and it is crashing when you open it then re-register at the site. If you don't register your new serial number it will crash. www.customizeapp.com
installed runs but does not apply themes
or any other changes also doesn't respring
From customize forum:
"Rekoil wrote:Works fine for me after given proper permissions. Running 2.0 on a 1st gen iPhone with wget and zip/unzip installed.
Heres how I installed it:
1. SSH to iPhone as root.
2. cd /Applications/
3. wget http://customizeapp.com/uploads/rele...mize-2.1.0.zip
4. unzip Customize-2.1.0.zip
5. chmod -R 777 Customize.app
(Heres where I think my instructions differ from others in this thread)
6. cd Customize.app/
7. chmod a+s Custom*
8. rm -rf ../Customize-2.1.0.zip
9. killall SpringBoard"
For me I just did steps 2,5,6,7,8,9 and everything was fine (I unzipped and placed customize in applications myself so didnt need the other steps). It opens and changes stuff (not all stuff but most).
using customize on firmware 2.01 and can't seem to get the clear dock to work. i keep getting a 'encoutered an arror compying the files' error under copy result
anyone got a clue?
Can't get it to apply any themes at all. Running FW 2.0.2.
