Well,

i have been wondering why there isnt a counter anywhere on the iphone while writing a sms, which tells me how many symbols i have left until the next sms starts. I hope you kinda know what im talking about.
On all my other phones i had a little counter in the upper corner which told me how many symbosl i have left while writing a sms.That way i could tell if i was already writing 2 sms instead of one.. and i was able to shorten the sms so that it would all fit into one sms.

But there doesnt seem to be a counter on the iphone... is there an option anywhere to activate that counter?... or am i just not seeing it? or does a little tool exist which displays me a counter?

Because this is pretty obnoxious.. i dont have a "1000 SMS's free per Month " contract, and i always try to put all the info i have into one sms.. but without the counter I cant even tell how many SMS i am exactly writing.
Hope you can help me out.

I'm afraid it's another feature that Apple forgot to implement.

Yeah, the feature doesn't exist. I HIGHLY suggest you visit http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html to request this feature. Apple says they read these things, so you never know...might come in a software update. Just fill it out and choose "Enhancement Request" under Feedback Type.
