Can the 1.1.4 Compatibility Patch cause any permanent damage to your iPhone?

This goes for all patches found in installer.app in general. In particular, I was looking at the iSpazio 1.1.4 Compatibility Patch.

I apologize for such a n00b question, but I just wanted to seek advice from you iPhone gurus before I installed any such patches. Do these patches ever touch the baseband/bootloader, etc? Thanks for any help/comments that may come my way...

No they dont they just simply edit the systemversion.plist of your phone to read out diffrently so you can fool installer in to giving you apps that were meant for diffrent firmware version once uninstalled you get a correct read out again. There fun at parties making people think you have 1.1.1 with wiggly icons
