My camera isn't working. Camera app opens but lens cover stays shut and I get the warning : "There is not enough room to take additional pictures. Please delete some existing photos".

I've tried everything...deleted photos...music...apps etc, but still the same.
I have a jailbroken, unlocked 1.1.3 using the Dev Team update method.

Could someone please tell me where Camera Roll pics are stored on the iPhone when you take a pic with the camera? And where the camera app is...cos I can't find it!!

Also my phone isn't being recognised by my Windows XP PC as a camera. It used to be and I could just drag pics from it.

your camera roll pics are stored in /private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM
try to free disk space with BossTool
did you upgrade from 1.1.2 and you still have 2 copies of each app? :p

I did upgrade from 1.1.2. HOw do I find out if I have two copies of the application? Should I have? Where are they?
Everything else on the phone works fine

your old Applications are in /var/root/Applications

Had a look with WinSCP and I don't have an applications folder in var/root

Also when I try to open my root/applications folder I get a warning:
Command 'cd "/private/var/Applications"'
failed with return code 1 and error message
cd: no such file or directory: /private/var/Applications.

If i try to open it again, it opens and is empty.

I'm confused

maybe it is a symlync and not a folder ?
paste an "ls -al" pls

login on WinScp, navigate to that dir, then open the terminal and execute "ls -al".
then paste it here :p

in pre-1.1.3 phones the camera roll is located at: /private/var/root/Media/DCIM the path is case sensitive, in 1.1.3 replace root for mobile in the previous path. Good luck
