[BossPrefs] Turning off phone bug
I find that if I turn off phone in BossPrefs, but leave wifi and EDGE on, that my iphone shows it is in Airplane mode, and EDGE does not work. I find that wifi continues to work.
Have others noticed this? Is there a fix?

If you're not with AT&T, turn off "Compat Phone Toggle."
If you're with AT&T or the other official iPhone carriers, you will have to endure this to be able to disable the Phone.

Well you have to know one thing about EDGE. It uses the phone signal as the data carrier. Thats why when you uses EDGE, you can't use the phone. In bossprefs, when you turn off phone function, you will also turn off EDGE service since it needs the phone function to work. WiFi uses a different signal/radio function from phone. Thats why u can use the WiFi even if you turn off phone function in bosspref. But its unlike the airplane mode from the standard setting as it turn off all the radio function, phone and WiFi.
Hope that helps.

Its a big deal for me
I turn off edge permanently, that way my "bill" wont go over the roof.
IF u want ALL services to be turned off, click on airplane mode on settings, it takes the same amount of "clicks" as doin it with BossPreffs. Again, big deal mah friend.

I am with TMobile USA. Even if I do this, turning phone switch off still turns off EDGE too. It did remove the bogus Airplane mode indicator. I was thinking it would be possible to turn phone off it I didn't want a call to interrupt my Internet access for a certain period of time.

I was only talking about the Airplane Mode issue (which seems resolved for you). Since JN2 is with AT&T, he/she needs to use compatibility mode.
And yes, when turning off the phone, EDGE will not work anymore.

Would it be possible for any other tool to turn off phone and not EDGE, or am I asking for something impossible?
And I am on T-Mobile, not AT&T.

Yes that would be impossible. You can't separate phone function with EDGE as both using the same carrier signal.
