Any pilot programers out there? Just a thought but some aviation apps would be cool, like an E6B, ect...
Just a thought.
I am interested , too. I am looking definetly for a logbook. I ' ve used captains keeper on my treo so far which is a great app. Anybody else interested?
I don't want to carry around my palm until i am retired.
I second the E6B idea. Its just a bucket of calculations, so its hopefully not difficult to implement. Electronic E6Bs are too pricey!
Beyond that, however, an app that will direct a cross country (e.g. track waypoints and times and whatnot) would probably make me pull out my checkbook. A lot of XC planning can be automated if you fly the same aircraft consistently (things like magnetic deviation, common waypoints and airports).
Hell, just an online sectional would be nice.
I was thinking about this (E6B), I'll have a look.
Def some pilot stuff would be cool. However if you wanna check out appleopolis they got aviationmobile and mymetars.com
mymetars.com gives weather info, runway info, airport info even an airport diagram if you want to see the layout. Its very helpful
Very very preliminary, and I have not debugged it (so don't go flying with it yet):
Oh man! would I love to pitch my palm..... if only there was a pilot log for the iphone.
Do you hear me SANTA! heheheh...
I'm going to finish the safari based one this week. Then I will look into doing a native one.
To the person who wants a logbook, can you point me to some list of requirements for this to be useful and legal?

ok, i'll try to find some samples. give me a day. Just landed in NY and tired...
Here's an Example:
That one is kinda simple, but you get the idea. Its essentially a giant spreadsheet. My suggestion would be to make some of the columns flexible in their designations.
For example, my logbook has data in these columns:
Airplane SEL (Single Engine Land)
Airplane MEL (Multi-Engine Land?)
Pilot in Command
Complex/High Performance (These should be split in two columns, really)
Total Duration of Flight
What i would do is make the time fields flexible, so one doesn't see unnecessary columns and can add columns as they become necessary.
