I've now removed the default MobileSMS.app and I am only using SMSD for my SMS'ing needs : )

Cool. As soon as it shows the conversation bubbles like the MobileSMS app, then I'll ditch Mobile and go SMSd all the way! Thanks guys! This is great stuff.

EDIT: On second thought, would there be a way to put a button inside SMSd that links to MobileSMS.app? That way we could leave MobileSMS.app installed, but just hide it's icon from the springboard with Customize. Then we would only have one SMS icon that controls the original MobileSMS and SMSd, so we can get the best of both worlds without switching back and forth between programs. Just an idea...

It works fine in the standard SMS application.

More updates....

SMS now send on average 6 to 7 seconds down from the delay of up to 45 seconds! this now makes SMSd is quick as MobileSMS for sending SMS.

Long SMS (splitting etc) is being worked on still.

Characters and Number matching are top of the list now according to Amrut.

How can I contact Amrut (preferably via im)? I have few ideas that could be implemented in SMSD (like overcoming 1000 SMS limit), and vcard sending/receiving.

Once the following are working it will be released publically:

1) SMS Splitting for long SMS.

2) Multi-character support

3) Contact number issue people have reported

4) Some keyboard issues

Amrut will be working on this for sure but for now he is resting. He made a massive fix for the sending of the SMS... but he's said he'd rather get the stuff in that people want before another release. Should hopefully be end of the week but no guarantee!
