Ableton Live or Logic 8 controller
For anyone making music/performing out there, using the iphone to control ableton would be a dream come true, ableton is built for touchscreen use + you could get a drink and still mix! Someone's made an app with telekinesis ---> www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6_C2gYilEo but i reckon native would be the way to go. Anyone have any ideas?

You're aware this was done through iPhone VNC right? That means that the iPhone was connected to a computer and controlling it through the local network. The application was NOT running on the iPhone.

I am indeed, thats why I started a seperate thread for a wholly native music production app. But using it as a wireless controller would be amazing, any ideas how it would be done?

I would think MIDI over bluetooth would be the best way for it to work. Having some controller apps on the phone would be sweet even if it was something as simple as a remote transport control.
I'd love to see something like the PreSonus faderport. Or possibly a configurable interface a la Reaktor where you can drag around controller elements and assign them MIDI messages to send.

I dunno, i reckon have a mini screen of ableton etc so you could trigger the samples by touch would be the way to go.....like vnc but less hassle for the mac user and native of course

Wouldn't that essentially be just a skinned MIDI controller?

exactly, I've posted a thread for an actual onboard sequencer, but in this one I'm just talking about a wireless controller.

Yeah, so why be so specific to Live? I'd rather have something more flexible.
