Taskbar Notifier was my favourite application in 1.1.x, but the webpage hasn't been updated in ages. Does anyone know if there will be a 2.0 version, or are there any other apps that do a similar task?

There are two now:
- Status Notifier (see http://code.google.com/p/statusnotifier/), using the original icons that were in Taskbar Notifier on 1.1.x. Must be installed from the command line. Also comes bundled with a Winterboard theme you may not want to have.
- Notifier (in Cydia through the Bigboss repo, see http://thebigboss.org/moreinfo/notifier.php), with other icons that are nice too (in the new version 1.1)
I installed Notifier. It looks nice, but it has built-in reminders that come literally every 15 seconds. That's a bit much, and I haven't seen a way to set the frequency. Has anyone found out how to do that?

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.
Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
* on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
* on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).
i`m using Status Notifier it works great, and it`s just like the old taskbar notifier. It the daemon checks every 60 seconds which I find takes too long to update. You can change it by editing daemon.sh in
/usr/local/StatusNotifier/
at the very bottom of the script you`ll see
just change the 60 to whatever seconds you wantCode:# Delay (1 min) sleep 60 done
