Not good idea. This file is individual, it comprises wifi connections settings which wont be the same for all users. But ip1 section is the same for all iphones.
It is not so difficult task to copy file from iphone to PC, modify it in text editor (Wordpad is OK) and copy back to the iphone.

Need some assistance.
I get the SSH tunnel via USB working!
However I still cannot tether my iphone. Any other areas I must do?
My config:
1. notebook:
-- winXP (with network domain)
-- IE: set socks to 127.0.0.1 port: 1080
-- wireless off
2. iPhone:
-- SSH (via BigBoss pref)
-- wireless off
-- jialbreak 1.1.3
Thanks

Managed to tether using my iPhone!
Currently using Mozilla Firefox as the browser. The tethering was a bit 'qwirky" as some sites need to open iPhone safari before establishing browsing in notebook.
Currently responding to this site with my notebook via iphone (2G)!
Need some expert advice in configuring connection to my office vpn.
Currently using Cisco vpn and transport is IPsec/UDP
Cheers

VPN does not work through proxy. So there is no way at the moment for you to connect to your office vpn. If you figure it out I'd love to know.

More correct to say that vpn doesn't work through ssh because vpn uses UDP for connect. ssh tunnels TCP only.

- Connect the laptop to your LAN. Set Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on for this LAN connection
- Create an ad hoc wifi network in your laptop's wifi settings
- Connect your iPhone to the ad hoc wifi network
- Start Cydia and install openSSH
Search the internet for further instructions on each of these steps.
iPhone 3GS / 3.1.2 JB (PwnageTool) / 04.26.08 carrier-locked, Carrier Logo Fixer / Cydia / 1000 posts on Hackint0sh
Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.
Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
* on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
* on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

Is it possible for the iTouch to connect to the internet via usb as well? If so, how? I don't think the iTouch has "gprs/edge" so I might be a bit screwed there.
Also, I read about something in the iTunnel updates, and it says that they can turn your iphone/touch into a wifi broadcaster for your pc. Anyone been able to do it yet?
