hi all,

ive had my phone for just under a week now, and i have had no problems installing any apps on my phone until now...

yesterday o the day before i updated installer to 3.01 (not sure if this has anything to do with it), now i cannot install any apps. i have been getting "package download failed!"

i have tried connecting via 2 diff wifi connections and i keep getting the same thing, i tried installing summer board 3.2 and it won't install, yet i could install multitouch. i triedd tapp and i got the error message.

don't know if its of any relevancy but i keep getting the message to clear some space, which i find strange because i have 3.8 GB of space left, and really i don't have many apps installed!

i recently coppied some NES roms onto the iphone, under var/mobile/media/ROMs/NES. i removed 1/2 the roms i installed and still no fix.

just wondering if its to do with the sources (which i keep refreshing)...

any help is greatly appreciated!

had the same problems
i solved it with doing the fllowing steps:
goto "Installer"
hit "Install"
choose "Sources"
install "Community Sources"

after these steps everything worked on my 2 iphones

If that doesn't work try:

Tap 'install' on any of the installation and then tap 'Clear Queue'

Try a few times if it still doesn't work.

The only solution which worked for me.

Just updated from 1.1.2 to 1.1.4 using eZiphone and I had the same problem after installing community sources.

I couldn't get mine to download stuff.

I installed comunity sources. That works now.

Now i can't install things because when it starts installing after the download installer crashes.... For everything ive tried.

Can't reinstall installer because it says i don't have enough free space. Itunes and my iphone report 5.4gb free.

Uninstalled a pile of apps. Then it finally let me reinstall installer. Now i don't have any problems.

Open up Installer, then hold down the HOME BUTTON for 7 seconds until it closes. Re-open Installer, and try again.

Once you can install apps again, install the package BossTools. This app will allow you to move all your applications to the bigger size of the partition, giving you a lot more space for apps.

How and the hell do we get out of the uninstaller saying there is not enough free space?
When you install BossTool.. where the F*ck is it?
They should have some more tutorial forums here!!
Can someone please further explain?

How the heel do we free up space and why is not enough space to begin with if iPhone shows several gigs free?
