    Default [1.1.2 OTB] Photo from Camera is not sharp compared to Contact taken photo

    Hello

    I have one problem using the default iPhone camera. I notice that the photo taken from the camera program is not so sharp. It looks like out-of-focus. However, when I compare the photo taken from the camera program to the photo taken from Contact, the photo taken from Contact is a lot sharper and clearer. I have examples.

    First, http://www.flickr.com/photos/21931144@N04/2149193860/, this photo is from the default Camera program, viewed with zoom.

    Second, http://www.flickr.com/photos/21931144@N04/2149194048/, this photo is from the Contact, viewed with zoom in the same degree (note the number of fence bars).

    It's obvious that the photo taken from Contact is better than Camera.

    Next examples,
    First, http://www.flickr.com/photos/21931144@N04/2148446957/, photo with no zoom from Camera.
    Second, http://www.flickr.com/photos/21931144@N04/2148447173/, photo with no zoom from Contact.
    Both show very marginal difference but still noticable that the photo from Contact is better than Camera, again.

    Last examples, zoomed views from above examples.
    First, http://www.flickr.com/photos/21931144@N04/2149242070/, from Camera.
    Second, http://www.flickr.com/photos/21931144@N04/2148447721/, from Contact.
    Again, now it's obvious that the photo from Contact is better than Camera.

    =================================
    To avoid any re-rendering, all photos above are taken using Screenshot program. So they are the photos actually displayed on iPhone screen as they were. In the other words, these photos are what I saw from my iPhone.

    My iPhone is 1.1.2 OOTB. I took all couples of photos with the same condition, same hardware (yeah... I have only 1 iPhone), same object, same distance, the two shots were taken in as short time as possible, my hands were still enough.

    I did also test with downgraded firmware 1.1.1 with the same result.
    =================================

    I want to see you opinion. Also I will be utterly appreciated if you can test this with very simple 2 shots; one from Camera and one from Contact, and share your experiences.

    Thank you.

    Although i can notice differences in your posted photos, i don't see any difference when taken from my iPhone.

    I'm running 1.1.1 fw.

    Maybe someone else can share their experience too?

    or maybe you shouldnt give anything on a photo taken with a cellphone.
    get a real camera if you want to take quality photos.

    I'm on fw 1.1.1 and I made the same test and you are totally right, there big diffrence.
    and I think it is affected by the value of the focus center or the apreature, and these values are hidden and we cant control them.
    I hope after cameraPro app released (full), then all these values will be easy to control manually.
    Thank

    Same happens to me. It has been like that for me since I bought it with 1.0.2 and when I had 1.1.1 and now 1.1.2. Very strange. It's like the shutter speed is a bit longer in the camera.app..

    Thank you very much.
    At least I'm not alone.......

    I informed this on the other local web board but nobody found this.
    That makes me worried about my iPhone...
    Now I know that I'm/mine is not the only one...

    Since it's not only 1.1.2 OOTB, I still keep seeing for more test.
    Please share your experiences.
    Also if anyone has any solution to fix this please suggest.

    Thank you.
